Creating jewelry out of lace

Working in the jewelry manufacturing industry, designing and producing everything from the very extravagant to simple pieces of jewelry. We sometimes forget to step back and enjoy how beautiful jewelry is. A jewelry designer by the name of Rei Harada beautifully made pieces reminded me of what is so special about working with precious metal. The following designs are from Rei’s lace series and are made in silver and gold, enjoy.

It is commonly known that the color of a room, the lighting, music, and the clothes that we wear set the mood to our surroundings. But what about jewelry? Jewelry is generally seen as an accessory for our clothing but it can also be used to set the tone to your style. White is the color of purity, innocence, and love. A jewelry designer by the name of Elvira López captures the essence of this neutral color beautifully in her “Whispers in White” collection. inspiration for jewelry design

One of our customers recently challenged us to come up with a jewelry design that’s completely different than anything we’ve done before. What was unusual about this request is the fact that the customer provided us no direction as far as what they had in mind. While we enjoy being challenged to come up with something new, it can be somewhat difficult to do when the customer is unsure on what style they are looking for. To help brainstorm on some concepts, we began looking at other jewelry designers who work with exotic materials. One of the designers we found quite interesting is Yoko Izawa. Her jewelry pieces are made of soft and delicate materials such as cloth and plastic. According to a documentary on
